LOT 147 Pancho Villa's Columbus Raid Photo 10"x58" photograph of Columbus, NM dated 1916 by J.U. Medley depicts the border town shortly after the March 19th raid by 500-600 of Pancho Villa's army. This was the last time the lower 48 was invaded by a foriegn army. The event lead to world-wide news coverage and the dispatch of General Pershing and several thousand troops to make a punitive search some 300 miles into Mexico in search of Villa.
