the sword marked C. Horster/ Solingen
embossed with U.S. on one side and a patriotic eagle on the other. the frock and britches in untouched condition, with various small moth holes, but intact and complete. The framed photo identified verso.
found undistrubed in a Westchester County farmhouse.
Born January 18th, 1840 at Painesville, Ohio Stanley Lockwood served, first as a lieutenant in the 2nd Ohio Cavalry which office he resigned, and under the call of President Lincoln enlisted in the 105th Ohio Infantry and was made lieutenant. At Perryville he was shot in the face, the bullet being removed from the back of his neck. He was in many battles and skirmishes and marched with Sherman to the sea. Married Elizabeth Lines October 13, 1864.
