Owners Jack and Rosie DeStories have served individuals and estates in the since 1988, handling over $50,000,000 of antiques and fine art and serving over 12,000 consignors.  In May 2008, they achieved an astonishing $2,185,000 for a Tlingit warrior's helmet- the highest price ever achieved for an antique in New England. You can now see video of this sale by clicking here. They also garnered national recognition for the sale of the Michael Martucci collection of Tiffany glass in 2005, which grossed over $350,000, as well as the sale of a rare centaur weathervane for $253,000 in 2004. Along the way, Fairfield Auction has continued to offer unsurpassed personal service to its clients while achieving world-class prices in categories as diverse as Russian icons, baseball cards, and antique firearms.

Jack has been a collector since buying an old shoebox of baseball cards at a yard sale at age twelve. Before graduating high school he was a nationally known collector and in 1989 was the youngest exhibitor (among 500) at the National Baseball Card Convention in San Francisco. In 1986, he graduated with honors from Santa Clara University.  He has been estimating, cataloging, and marketing antique auctions full-time for nearly twenty years. Jack has been certified as an expert witness in his field by the Bridgeport Superior Court, and he has donated his expertise to over 50 antique appraisal events for various local schools, churches, museums, and historical societies.

Rosie was literally born into the business. Her parents operated an antique store from her earliest days and created one of the first retail antique collectives in 1970. Rosie graduated from The World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa at the age of 19. In 1987 she received a Bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University. Over the years since, she has handled over 400 auctions, selling everything from Stieff bears to multi-million dollar real estate. In her spare time, she has coordinated fundraising auctions that generated over $5,000,000 for local causes.

Fairfield Auction maintains a staff of consultants in various areas of expertise to ensure that all items are properly estimated, cataloged and promoted.  Additionally, all auctions are well staffed to better serve our buyers.

We strive to be your first choice in the disposition of antiques and fine art.  It is our belief that a properly planned, promoted, and presented auction will result in the best possible results for our consignors.  Our location along Interstate 84 has been carefully chosen expose consignments to the most affluent counties in the country (Fairfield and Westchester) as well as Manhattan, and greater New England. Our presence in the national trade publications and the world wide web bring consignments to literally millions of collectors, dealers, and institutions.

Our auction highlights demonstrate an ability to achieve "New York" price results for objects of high quality. Fairfield Auction can provide those results without the hassles and hidden add-on charges found with the corporate auction bohemoths in New York.

Fairfield Auction handles all consignments on a confidential basis. We are proud of the fine reputation we have earned with buyers and sellers, and we encourage prospective sellers to visit the gallery and see an auction in person.
