Michael M. Pleshkoff (listed as lieutenant M.M. Plietchkov), as pictured in La Garde Imperial Russe as Chef du detachement for Czarina Marie Feodorovna's Blue Cuirassiers, the crack troop of Russian Imperial Horse Guards. He also served as aide de campe to Grand Duke Nicholas and Cavalry General during the first World War under Admiral Alexander Kolchak in Siberia. He was highly decorated for his horsemanship and was a winner of the King Edward Cup at The Olympia Horse Show in London. He escaped Russia during The Revolution and made his way, to his wife and child, already in Japan. Subsequently, they made their way to California and finally to Connecticut. |
